Lidth's Jay is a beautiful corvid with deep lapis-blue plumage from the head to the wings. It is endemic to Amami-Oshima and a few neighboring islands, where it feeds on acorns and other foods in evergreen broadleaf forest. Logging and invasive predators have affected it in the past, and the species is designated a national Natural Monument.
