The milky fiddler crab is a small crab whose male has one oversized white claw, waved on tidal flats to attract females. It lives in burrows and retreats into them as the tide rises. The Manose River estuary in Kagoshima is a Natural Monument for its hibiscus stand and tidal-flat community, in which this crab is a signature animal.
