About the Ogasawara Rhinocypha Damselfly

A metallic-bodied damselfly endemic to the Ogasawara Islands, living along streams and small rivers. It formerly occurred on Chichijima but is now considered extinct there; surviving populations occur on islands including Anijima, Ototojima and Hahajima. Predation by introduced species and habitat changes threaten it. The species is designated a national Natural Monument.
