About the Onagadori (long-tailed chicken)
The Onagadori is an ornamental chicken developed in Kochi Prefecture, famous for its extraordinarily long tail. The male's tail feathers rarely molt and keep growing, sometimes reaching several meters. A uniquely Japanese breed cherished since the Edo period, it is designated a Special Natural Monument as "the Onagadori of Tosa."
